    “ALEXANDER SEMENTSOV. PAIN SYNDROME”. A series of works dedicated to the War in Abkhazia 1992–1993
    Artist Alexander Sementsov was born in Kerch, Crimea, just before the Great Patriotic War broke out in 1941. Sementsov witnessed the armed conflict between Georgian and Abkhazian forces in 1992 during a short visit to his motherland. This experience transformed his self-identification as a person and as an artist, having mobilized formerly dormant creative resources.

    “VASILY KLYUKIN. IN DANTE VERITAS”. A series of “live sculptures”
    Vasily Klyukin is a Russian-born designer, writer, sculptor, and businessman. In 2016, Klyukin first presented a series of “live sculptures,” based on his engineering experience. The technique allows to assemble and disassemble the sculptures without a single bolt, screw, etc. It is this very principle that the series In Dante Veritas, on display in the courtyard of the St. Michael’s Castle, relies upon.

    "EAST QUESTION AND THE PROTECTION OF CO-RELIGIONISTS"
    Exhibition dedicated to the political, historical and religious collisions related to the so-called "Eastern Question", and participation in the Russian state. At the exhibition the visitors are more than 100 exhibits from the museum. Among them are unique photographs taken by Russian and foreign travelers the second half of XIX - early XX centuries, the gifts of the Oriental Orthodox churches, icons, accompanying soldiers and pilgrims, samples of "billboards": lithographs, engravings, postcards, reflecting different stages of the Russian state and church policy in the East. Also at the exhibition, samples of ecclesiastical vestments and military uniforms XIX - early XX centuries. More than half of the exhibits exhibited for the first time.
